In case you missed it on Facebook over the weekend, there is a new blog dedicated to using Ryan Gosling pictures combined with “Hey Girl” sayings in an effort to provide all of us with a much-needed laugh.

It’s the result of procrastinating housework on a Saturday afternoon while spending time on Facebook.
I blame my friend Anne.
Ryan Gosling has been the subject of “Hey Girl” blog postings for a couple of years now, but to my knowledge there hasn’t been one specifically devoted to the subject of homeschooling. This blog, dedicated to all things craft-related is pretty hilarious and was the first time I was introduced to the whole Ryan Gosling/Hey Girl thing. Over the weekend, my friend Anne made a reference to that same blog, which I commented on, which then led her to start coming up with “Hey Girl” homeschooling-related sayings, which led to me cracking up, which led to more people chiming in, which led to us deciding to just start our own Tumblr blog dedicated to this idea.

Because, really, I have way too much time on my hands.
Oh wait. I homeschool four kids (three, really). I don’t have any time.
Given the blog’s popularity so far, I’d say there are some of you out there finding the humor in it.
But, why Ryan Gosling?
Personally, I think that part of what makes it funny is that it’s Ryan Gosling and not someone like Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, etc…
That’s not to say that there won’t be any posts created using them in the future, of course…

I shared your blog on my Facebook page and I think I’ve gotten 25 comments on it! Obviously we homeschool moms needed this.
My favorite is the one about calling during work to put a hysterical child on the phone. Not that I have ever done that, of course. 
Now I think we need one with pictures of Colin Firth saying Mr. Darcy-ish things about homeschooling.
